The Difference Between A Two Way Rental Truck And One Way Rental
When it is time to pack up your things and go, a lot of movers have one thing in mind; a moving truck. Using a truck rental to move your things is affordable to almost every mover out there. A moving truck rental may seem appealing, but there are some details that you should learn about before you decide on a company. One of those details that seem to confuse many first time renters is the difference between a
two way rental and one way truck rentals. You should make it a point to understand both of them so you will make a better decision for your move.
Two way rentals are often used for moving locally. By definition, two way moving is moving your things from one place to another and then taking the moving truck back to where you originally picked it up. This is most ideal for a local move because movers who are only moving a short distance should have no problem with taking the truck back to where they rented it from. Imagine having to drive a long distance and then having to drive all the way back just to return the moving truck. It’s very inconvenient to do that with two way moving trucks.
However, a one way rental is suited for longer moves. One way moving is where you pick up the moving truck from a location, load it up, drive, unload it, then drop it off at another location. More often than not, movers use one way trucks for going out of state or even across the country so they will not have to backtrack just to drop the truck off at the pickup location. One way truck rentals can be used for local moves if you are moving one or two towns over and do not wish to drive all the way back. This is purely a matter of preference to a mover, however.
There are some moving companies that let you choose either two way or one way truck rentals. The important thing to know before making any decision is to know exactly how far you plan on moving, and then deciding which service is best for you. Now that you know the difference between two way and one way moving trucks, you have a much better idea of what to pick out in a moving truck. Always pick the one most appropriate to your situation.
